If you attend one event this year you should plan to attend this one. BOMA Columbus is working with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office to present a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training course. The CRASE course is instructed by the Sheriff’s Office and provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of professional guardians, civilian response options, medical issues and drills. A few of our BOMA members have already provided this training to their staff and in some cases their tenants. Those who have attended have remarked that the training and conversation on handling these events was beyond anything they had learned before. All have recommended it highly which is why BOMA Columbus is presenting it to our members. BOMA Members are welcome to register their assistants, building techs or their supervisors as the information presented is that valuable. Seating is limited to 50 and the deadline to register is May 20th, but we anticipate seats will go fast so sign up early!
